HOW IT WORKS
  • Order a Memento Me Jewellery kit and we’ll post it to you within 1–2 business days.
    •
  • Follow our simple instructions and watch our instructional video to create your design/s using the wax pendants provided. Our kits include everything you need – all you have to provide is a pen and a permanent marker.
    •
  • Post your design/s back to us for fabrication. (We’ll provide the return post label.)
    •
  • We’ll transform your design/s into high-quality jewellery of your choice, using an ancient process called lost-wax casting.
    •
  • Once our master jeweller has made your pendant, we’ll send the finished jewellery back to you within 2–3 weeks of receiving your designs.

    HOW IS MEMENTO ME JEWELLERY MADE?
    We use a process called lost-wax casting. This ancient technique, dating back to ​​4550–4450 BC, uses wax models to cast exact replicas into metal objects with great accuracy and precision. This is why we send you a series of wax pendants to draw your designs on.
    We’ll then take your favourite Memento Me wax pendant design and put it through the lost wax process, in which the wax is enveloped in a casting plaster and melted out before molten metal is poured in. 
     
    WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE MEMENTO ME JEWELLERY KIT?
    We’ll send you a kit with everything you need, including:
    • 10 x wax pendants in your chosen design
    • 3 x wax test sheets
    • 1 x drawing tool
    • 3 x practice pages to design the layout
    • 3 x numbered containers
    • 1 x return shipping label
    • Instructions and QR code to instructional video
    All you’ll need to provide at your end is a permanent marker and a pen. 
     
    TO WHAT EXTENT CAN I CUSTOMISE MY DESIGNS?
    We’ll provide a drawing tool with a large tip for deeper grooves and a small tip for finer details. You’re also free to use any tool you like, as long as it leaves a clear mark in the wax pendant.
    It’s up to you whether you want to design a single-sided or double-sided pendant – the price remains the same for both options. You can also make indentations in the edges of the pendant (similar to a coin). See some examples on our gallery page for inspiration!
     
    HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO RECEIVE MY ORDER?
    We’ll ship your initial Memento Me Jewellery kit from Melbourne within 1–2 days of receiving your order.
    Take as long as you want to create your designs, but please allow a week to send it back (depending on your location).
    We’ll send your finished jewellery back to you within 2–3 weeks of receiving your designs at our studio.
    In total, you’ll want to allow 3–4 weeks for the entire process (depending on how long you take to create your designs and get them to the post box).
     
    WHAT’S INCLUDED WITH THE FINISHED DESIGN?
    Your final delivery will include your creation (complete with your chosen chain and jump ring), gift-wrapped in a Memento Me pendant box. You’ll also get a certificate of authenticity for safekeeping.
     
    IS MEMENTO ME JEWELLERY AVAILABLE OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA?
    Not at this stage. We have plans to expand internationally in the future, but for now Memento Me Jewellery kits are only available in Australia.
